When Two People Have Equal and Opposite Control Over Each Other and All You Can Do Is Watch

This piece was completed for my Space studio final at VCU Arts. I created two masks with glove eye-coverings that could be opened by another person. The performance consisted of two people wearing the masks with their hands in each other's gloves which gave them the ability to control each other's sight. While this occurred, people from the audience were invited to wash off the phone number that was written on a sheet of Plexiglas in lipstick on the floor.

The piece was a visualization of my thoughts on relationships, and how much control we have over ourselves and our partners in a monogamous partnership.
