My Self
January 17, 2017My name is Zephyr Sheedy. I use she/her pronouns. I have a lot of thoughts about my name and how I am called but I feel like that deserves its own post.
My current goal is to complete a double major with Film and Sculpture at VCU. This is my second year here.
Professors William Connally, Mary Beth Reed, and Dana Ollestad have had major impacts on the way I think about art as it exists and my own processes.
Grew up in a very woodsy area outside of Leesburg, Virginia. Crooked bridge, steep hill, lots of trees, simultaneously peaceful and smothering. My childhood there continues to have a large influence on my social interactions, art and self.
I have a twin who also practices art. That relationship and her art are very important to me.
Opequon Quaker Camp changed and is changing my life. I am very passionate about helping to empower young people through that setting.
I have never “blogged” formally and I’m trying to not take it too seriously so that I don’t hold back from posting the seemingly insignificant parts of myself (because the parts I take for granted are the ones that really define me I think.)
